What does it mean to be judgmental?

It simply means to judge someone based on what we see, be it their color, race, outfit, or haircut. Some of us spend our days meeting new people. How often do you see someone because they have a suit on and think they are rich and proud? Or how often do we judge our customers based on whether they arrive at the market with a car or using public transportation? These are examples of prejudice. Judging people based on what our eyes see.

As humans, we have experienced this, even the fact of seeing someone and imagining how mean he is without knowing him or her. In the society of today, some of us have the best characters while for others, if character was a snack, we would not want to have a bite of it! Now what about people with transitioning characters? What about people who have committed atrocities and at some points in their lives decide to change? How do we act towards them? For example, in your neighborhood you know of this guy he used to sell drugs and spends his night partying. All of a sudden, he wants to go to church or to the mosque or any other religious establishment.

How should the congregation welcome him? With awful looks? Or a smiling face welcoming him and being glad he has finally chosen the right path. So many people each day struggle to transition from an awful snack to a palatable one but our attitude towards them pushes them away, and they continue with their vices. Let's avoid being judgmental or having prejudices over people, spread love, always have a heart that always wants to see the best in anyone!
