When we received calls telling us a beloved one has passed away from heart disease, our mind travels to possible diseases like stroke, heart attack. But there are far worst heart diseases that does consume the heart like fire. Though our heart continues to pump blood through our veins and arteries, it is sick. It is suffering from a terrible ailment, jealousy and Envy.
How do we develop these diseases that must be your question? How can we be diagnosed of jealousy and envy?
We are jealous of our friends or relatives when we are not happy for their success. Every human being has a degree of jealousy which if uncontrolled becomes a fuel which consumes everything. We are jealous when we can't support a friend in his or her new project even when we are able to, we are envious when we can't bear to see others happy. Thoughts come to our mind like; why does Sandra have this item and I don’t have it. Does she think she has made it? Or thoughts like Emanuel can never be a director when am still just a secretary. Pride and jealousy are deadly ailments. Once you suffer from these, you will be unable to enjoy the little blessings the Creator has offered to you, you won't be able to appreciate the little things around you that matter. Let's practice being grateful, let's practice hard work let's not be satisfied with mediocrity. Let's always aim high to reach the top so that we don't envy others who have achieved more.
